March 15, 2012 – The ABB JOKAB SAFETY business unit of the ABB Low Voltage Products division will be hosting a presentation by noted safety expert JB Titus at ABB’s Automation & Power World, which runs April 23rd - 26th at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Titus, a Certified Functional Safety Expert and president of JB Titus & Associates, a machine functional safety consulting firm, will present “Using Functional Safety as Part of your Machine Safety Plan” in separate sessions on both April 24th and 25th of the four day event. The presentation will cover Functional Safety and its impact on the diverse technologies and solutions for machine guarding and personnel safety.
Included will be discussions of innovative machine safety strategies that work for small, medium, and Fortune 1000 companies seeking a competitive advantage by exceeding machine safety plan goals, and by creating synergistic business realignments for improved profits. With 30 years of experience in machine safety technology, Titus is experienced in diverse technologies, standards and solutions for machine guarding and personnel safety, and is an innovative strategist able to identify, launch and manage products and services in both emerging and established international markets. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Disney, Chrysler, General Motors, Siemens Energy & Automation, Rockwell Automation, Bridgestone Firestone, and Samsung Heavy Industries.
Additionally, he serves on key standards committees, working to incorporate advancements in safety technology into safety standards. He holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Marketing and Finance, and a BBA from Oklahoma University in Industrial Management.
