October 14, 2009 – Kepware Technologies released version 3.5 of its ClientAce OPC Client Development Toolkit for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.ClientAce includes a set of .NET components enabling the quick and easy development of OPC-DA Client applications. The components include a Server Browser, Item Browser, Channel Settings, Server State and Data Access controls.
While these controls will work with any third party OPC-DA server, there are added information benefits when used with Kepware’s KEPServerEX or KEPServer based branded solutions. This new version adds support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and enables client application development in the C# and VB.NET programming languages. The toolkit requires developer licensing, however runtime deployments are free. “Kepware OPC Servers are used in all manner of applications, as drivers integrated with standard commercial products, to the communications front end for custom developed applications,” explained Roy Kok, VP of Sales and Marketing of Kepware Technologies.
“This toolkit enables developers to create very robust OPC-DA Client applications without needing to learn the intricacies of the OPC standards. Our latest release supports current Microsoft software development environments.”
