November 12, 2012 – Laser Technology announces TruSense S230 non-contact laser sensors, which provide versatility, high accuracy, long range, and low cost, all within a small package size.

For applications where a compact size and extremely light weight is a must, the TruSense series are a perfect fit. The OEM version (without an external case) weighs less than 3 ounces and takes up space that is no larger than a deck of cards. System integrators can easily include this small sensor into a system’s housing such as a vehicle guidance system requiring distance measurement or into a camera housing requiring a trigger source.
Small size does not limit the performance of these sensors as they will range to a gray target at over 1500 meters or with an accuracy of less than 4 cm in short range mode. Having a choice of a variety of I/O formats makes the TruSense series very adaptable for your specific installation.
In addition to a 4-20mA output, the S230 model includes HART capability allowing the user freedom to communicate with the laser through 4-20 as well as through RS232 serial communication..
The TruSense S230 is ideal for applications requiring an alignment laser and 4-20 HART. The S230 can be customized through the included interface software, to meet the needs of your specific application. The installed PC-based GUI (graphical user interface) allows a user to easily set range, data output rate, and target mode.
All S-Series sensors include field installation cable & interface software.
