NewEnergy Alliance is a group of companies aimed to forge a new electricity load response model in the building automation industry.

May 29, 2008 – LONMARK signed a marketing agreement with the newly founded NewEnergy Alliance, a group of forward thinking companies aimed to forge a new electricity load response model that will surpass the current utility-driven demand response offerings. The NewEnergy Alliance is committed to driving innovation in the building automation industry that will create smarter, more Energy Responsive BuildingsSM and ultimately provide the end-users with more control over their energy costs. Energy efficiency and demand response are both high priorities for LonMark, International as well as for its members.

“LonMark sees the formation of the NewEnergy Alliance as a significant opportunity to include new technologies and emerging practices with the existing LonMark guidelines and solutions, and to bring the latest developments, advances, and service offerings to the controls market,” says Ron Bernstein, Executive Director of LonMark International. “The NewEnergy Alliance is committed to creating Energy Responsive BuildingsSM by integrating building automation systems with real-time energy market data and pricing signals,” said Leighton Wolffe, Vice President of Alliances and Strategy for Constellation NewEnergy.

“This commitment to developing and implementing enterprise level energy solutions and technologies will deliver advanced energy expertise and innovative tools that today’s customers need to identify and leverage the energy in our built environment.” The New Energy Alliance will act as an open forum exchanging new ideas, developments, and opportunities. This will be a tremendous benefit to LonMark’s members, who are looking to expand their participation in demand response programs worldwide. In an effort to address the constant changes in technologies, LonMark International is in the early stages of developing a new program, which will allow LonMark to work with third party organizations and companies on complimentary technologies.

As such, the NewEnergy AllianceSM is the first in a series of non-exclusive relationships. It is the long-term goal of LonMark International to enhance and extend its current range of capabilities by working with various organizations and their existing and emerging complimentary technologies.
