DENVER, Colo., May 21, 2007 -- The LXI Consortium announced that its next General Meeting will be held in Beijing, China, June 19-21, 2007, the first General Meeting to be held in Asia. The Consortium’s goal is to develop a solid LXI user base in the region to promote adoption of the test instrument technology and learn more about applications particular to this region of the world. Meeting information can be found on the LXI website; LXI Member Company Agilent Technologies will serve as host for the meeting. Bob Rennard, Consortium president, stated, “Technical groups in Asia have expressed a great deal of interest in LXI and the benefits it can provide.
This, along with the fact that China has developed a dominant technical presence in the electronics sector made the choice to hold the meeting in Beijing a logical one.”The meeting will also strengthen the Consortium’s ties to The China LXI Committee, a grass-roots effort consisting of about 100 Chinese universities, research institutes, and manufacturers. “We are very excited that the LXI Consortium is holding its General Meeting in Beijing,” said Sun Shenghe, Committee Chair. “The meeting will provide a venue for Chinese customers to learn about the latest developments in LXI technology as well as share their experiences in using LXI equipment.
The meeting is also a great opportunity for broad communication and planning for long-term cooperation between the LXI Consortium and the Chinese LXI Committee.”LXI also announced that Beijing Aerospace Measurement & Control Corporation has joined the Consortium an Informational Member. Established in 1982, Beijing Aerospace Measurement & Control is part of the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. The company produces automated measurement and control equipment used in measurement and control systems for satellite, missile, rocket, engine, radar, aircraft and locomotive systems.Introduced in 2005, the LXI Standard has been rapidly adopted by 50 companies, representing a who’s who of the test-and-measurement industry.
They recognize LXI as the natural successor to GPIB, and that it was time for instruments to go beyond GPIB to make it easier for test system designers and integrators to create faster, more efficient systems.
