March 22, 2010 – Masplantiz announces MIMTIS EMS energy management software. The software monitors energy consumption pattern in real-time, over the web, and reduce such wastages.MIMTIS EMS helps both small and large organizations in measuring, analyzing and reducing energy costs. The software collects real-time energy data, with intervals as short as one minute and as large as one month. The data is collected from energy meters, sensors, devices, automation systems, or other sources.

The software in addition to acquisition of data from meters, also allows acquisition of data like temperature, humidity, lighting intensity via analog sensors. The software supports discrete control thorough digital inputs and outputs (DIO) – this helps the facility manager to switch off loads that are not required. MIMTIS EMS tracks and displays real-time and historical energy data on an interactive web HMI. Reporting and analysis tools are targeted at owners and executives who want actionable information. Consumption data from a number of assets can be aggregated or compared with the software, saving time relative to manual reporting.

Another advantage is that outside factors affecting energy use, such as weather or lighting, can be accounted for as part of the reporting process. This information can be used to prioritize energy savings initiatives. Initiatives such as replacement of malfunctioning equipment, retrofits of inefficient equipment, and removal of unnecessary loads can be discovered and coordinated. The interactive and rich HMI engages the users and facility manager by providing real-time energy information, and is accessible via a web-browser. Periodic updates and alerts are also sent by email and SMS to the users.

The main objective of engagement is to connect occupants’ daily choices with building energy consumption. By displaying real-time consumption information, users see the immediate impact of their actions. This alone can lead to a 7% reduction in consumption.MIMTIS EMS is offered as a hosted service for small customers who want to monitor their energy consumption over the web. Larger customers can purchase MIMTIS EMS license for onsite installation.
