March 8, 2011 - MatrikonOPC released its OPC Server for NEG Micon Wind Turbine Controllers. By providing secure and open connectivity between all NEG Micon Wind Turbine Controllers and the decision-making points at power utility companies in real-time, this OPC Server is a key component in the automation and control system. Although NEG Micon turbines have been discontinued, many Wind farms are still using them in Germany, Denmark, and USA. NEG Micon turbines were produced in various differing models of and are specifically designed for commercial wind power generation systems.
The OPC Server for NEG Micon Wind Turbine Controllers supports a variety of popular NEG Micon Wind Turbine Controllers, enabling users to integrate those controllers to other automation components in the enterprise (such as HMIs, historians, ERPs and more). “MatrikonOPC’s commitment to providing secure and reliable connectivity to all major control systems continues with the release of the NEG Micon OPC Server. This OPC Server is a great addition to our turbine connectivity suite. Users can now leverage the power of universal connectivity to achieve operational excellence,” said Sean Leonard, Matrikon’s vice president of OPC products.
