March 30, 2016 - At the Hannover Messe 2016, MB connect line will introduce the new service USB over IP to trade visitors. The new features enable remote access to USB devices via the remote service platform mbCONNECT24 V2.1. For devices with USB interface solutions for data acquisition, monitoring and remote maintenance can be integrated - for example, controllers, sensors or cameras.

The components are connected to the USB port of an industrial router mbNET.mini. About USB over IP the same high safety standards are met as direct IP connections. The transfer of data is encrypted using a secure connection. Encryption is performed using the security protocol TLS (SSL).

Access is only given to users with corresponding rights have been granted on the central platform. Even more security, the two-factor authentication provides (2FA). The user must still enter a PIN, which he receives on his mobile phone next to username and password. The user then sees the USB device on his computer as if it were directly connected.
