September 1, 2011 - McCrometer enhances Mc Propeller Flow Meter with a bearing assembly that includes built-in UltraShield technology for added protection against sand, grit, and debris. The propeller style flow measurement solution is ideal for water flow measurement in agricultural, turf and other irrigation applications. Mc Propeller Flow Meters now feature a more durable bearing assembly, and an improved design of the standard canopy, transmitter, and digital register to prevent water intrusion. Additional features include a standard lid spring and an optional canopy boot for the standard canopy or digital register that are designed to protect against harsh outdoor operating conditions.
McCrometer’s advanced UltraShield technology is now standard on all McCrometer Mc Propeller Flow Meter models. The improved Marathon bearing assembly, previously known as the “over-run”, is designed to increase load capacity and will also come standard with UltraShield technology. The Marathon Package for tough environments and high flow rates features the Marathon bearing with UltraShield technology, a canopy cover and a 2-year warranty. The Marathon Plus Package also features the Marathon bearing with UltraShield technology and a canopy cover--plus a 3-year warranty will be included with this selection. The Digital Package features a FlowCom digital register and canopy cover for our customer base that prefers a digital interface.
The RemoteCONNECT Ready Packages equip the meter with a pulse output for easy connection to McCrometer’s proven RemoteCONNECT telemetry system. In addition to different package options, McCrometer Mc Propeller Flow Meters come in multiple design configurations and sizes to best fit specific applications. With bolt-on saddle, fixed ell, removable ell and open flow designs, McCrometer provides a wide range of propeller meter configurations providing the best fit meter solution for a wide range of applications. Mc Propeller Flow Meters are easy to install and require minimal upstream and downstream straight run requirements.
Unlike paddlewheel, vortex shedding and magnetic insertion style flow meters, the McCrometer Mc Propeller Flow Meter requires no electric power to operate and measures flow across almost the entire cross-sectional area of the pipe for higher accuracy. Other technologies sample only a small portion of the pipes cross-sectional area, reducing accuracy and repeatability in variable low flow or highly turbulent flow environments.
