Scale Terminal Provides Industrial Users with Higher Levels of Functionality and Operability
COLUMBUS, Ohio (October 27, 2004) –METTLER TOLEDO announces the improved JAGXTREME™ scale terminal – the most advanced scale terminal available to industrial users for bi-directional communication with a PC and PLC. The scale terminal incorporates industry standard connectivity to facilitate communication and data exchange with companies’ control, manufacturing execution and enterprise systems. The JAGXTREME offers seamless installation, configuration and usability. For custom protocols or weighing applications with special controls, the innovative scale terminal offers resident engineering tools, such as the JagBASIC programming language or data templates, to allow the user to create their own unique applications.
The terminal supports four words of floating point and two words of weight data types to issue commands and data to and from the scale terminal and PLC. “The JAGXTREME is great for complex applications utilizing custom JagBASIC programs, the remote graphical user interface JXOI, and Ethernet/IP protocol for process weighing applications, such as vehicle and filling/batching operations,” said METTLER TOLEDO Product Manager, Terry Mackin. “Set up for vehicle applications is fast and easy with the JAGXTREME webserver. JAGXTREME options include single and dual analog scale cards, single and dual analog reduced excitation, Modbus Plus, Profibus DP, ControlNet, DeviceNet Bridge, RIO and nearly a dozen additional functions. Ethernet/IP protocol provides plug-and-play interoperability among multiple vendors and real-time messaging for industrial control applications.
