October 19, 2012 — METTLER TOLEDO announces ICS425, 435, 445, 465 and 685 industrial scales. These easy-to-use scales are built dust-, shock-, and draft-proof, making them perfect for the industrial environment.

The scales use strain gauge or Monobloc technology based on a manufacturer’s unique needs to deliver weighing precision.

Featuring ease of use, durability and accuracy, the scales have large, bright display screens and intuitive command menus. Easily operated by nearly anyone on a manufacturing team, it prompts lead operators step-by-step through a procedure. User-management profiles allow language, rights and key configuration settings for flexibility in work style and quick employee changeover at shift’s end.

Application levels can be tailored to simple weighing and counting or complex computations, such as totalizing, totalizing to target or over/under checkweighing and checkcounting. Easy-toggle bar graphs show in-process results of activities, such as filling. Configurable softkeys—and even hands-free capabilities—allow users to program functions critical to a particular weighing process. These features help reduce operator workload in multi-step, labor-intensive processes, increasing an individual worker’s productive time.

Further enhancing operator comfort, scale terminals and platforms can be set up in compact, standup or separate component configuration. A rechargeable battery pack and WLAN connectivity allows cable-free operation for maximum flexibility. By adding colorWeight technology to screen readouts, operators easily know at a glance whether a weight or count is over, under or within the set target range for enhanced ergonomic benefit.

Interface options easily integrate with existing IT systems, second scales and other devices, such as barcode/RFID scanners. Predefined and user-defined label templates in different formats and sizes offer an efficient documentation process as well.

Embedded data storage with alibi and transaction memory allows smart export/import functionality by USB stick or Ethernet, completing the scales’ incorporation into the line and allowing easy analysis of weighing and counting results.
