Mitsubishi Electric holds workforce development program in Houston
As part of the company’s Workforce Development Program, it aims to bring its equipment to schools, technical colleges, and non-profit organizations, and provide skills in programming, service, maintenance and operations. Mitsubishi Electric Automation granted a CNC Specialist Certification to those who successfully completed the program, which was offered during the week of August 26-30th.

September 5, 2019 - In collaboration with BenCheri’ Educational Center and Youth Building Success Enhancement of Houston, Illinois-based Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. conducted a training and workforce development program for students in the Acres Homes community of Houston, Texas from August 26 – 30, 2019.

Mitsubishi Electric Automation is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, a manufacturer and seller of electrical and electronic products and systems used in a range of fields and applications.

The automation business unit of Mitsubishi Electric specializes in products such as Computer Numerical Controllers (CNCs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), servo motors, and industrial robots, which are found in factories and manufacturing floors across the world, in industries such as oil and gas, medical, transportation, and aerospace.

As part of the company’s Workforce Development Program, it aims to bring its equipment to elementary schools, high schools, technical colleges, and non-profit organizations, and provide skills in programming, service, maintenance and operations needed for tomorrow’s workforce. Mitsubishi Electric Automation granted a CNC Specialist Certification to those who successfully completed the program, which was offered for free during the week of August 26-30th.

The training program is specifically oriented towards teenagers, adults, and previously incarcerated persons who encounter difficulties finding sustainable jobs. Mitsubishi Electric and BenCheri’ will host an awards ceremony on Friday, August 30th, to recognize the students who successfully completed the certification training. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, along with other elected officials, including Texas State Representative Jarvis Johnson, will attend to show their support of the endeavor.
