Modbus-IDA Adds Two to Board of Directors

Hopkinton, MA (February 23, 2004) At its December Board meeting, Modbus-IDA expanded its Board of Directors to seven by electing Schneider Electric’s Ronald Schoop and Phoenix Contact’s David Skelton to fill the two newly created seats. The two new members join the Board from the former IDA Group, which combined with the Modbus Organization in October 2003.Ronald Schoop is vice president HUB product department at Schneider Electric P&T, a position he assumed after serving as director of R&D for Schneider Electric, Automation Business in both France and Germany. Schoop received his doctorate in engineering from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany and was the Director of IDA’s Technical Committee.

David Skelton has been the director of automation systems for Phoenix Contact USA since November 2001. In this capacity, he leads Phoenix Contact’s efforts in the development, marketing, sales and support of solutions designed to increase productivity through the use of networks and PC-based technology. Skelton began his career at Allen-Bradley Company (Rockwell Automation). He is a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering.The addition of these two Directors is a boon to the organization.
