Because of the increased interest in using wireless connectivity for outdoor applications such as windmill farms and highway tunnels, MOXA has taken the initiative to produce the first IP67/68-certified wireless Access Point/Bridge and AP Client. Both products are designed to withstand the harmful effects caused by rain, dust, and hot temperatures.The AWK-1200 series products are fully compliant with IEEE802.11g/b.
The robust mechanical design offers seamless protection against the effects of dust and water, and as an added bonus, the products support the IEEE802.3af PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) protocol to eliminate the need to for expensive electrical work in outdoor environments. The AWK-1200’s detachable antenna design gives users the freedom to use a variety of special-purpose antennas. In addition, the both AWK-1200 models are guaranteed to work reliably in temperatures ranging from -20 to 70°C.
Wireless security is enhanced using WEP, WPA/WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access), and IEEE802.1X authentication to guarantee a safe, wireless network environment.
Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless connection
The AWK-1200 can be used for Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) wireless communication to allow multiple locations to share a single Internet connection. Outdoor wireless networks that use the AWK-1200 extend connectivity beyond the building walls and wired backbones to deliver cost-effective service, and expand information access to the outdoors.
Extend signal coverage with the right antenna
The AWK-1200 has a detachable antenna design, which gives users the flexibility of choosing from a variety of special-purpose antennas for the widest coverage. MOXA also offers directional and omni-directional antennas for users’ extended transmission.
