The National Electrical Manufacturers Association ( NEMA ), the leading trade association of the electrical manufacturing industry in the United States, and Orgalim , the association representing Europe’s technology industries, announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen their coordination in promoting the shared interests of their respective members in the United States and Europe. At this pivotal moment of economy-wide electrification in both the U.S. and Europe amid a global competitive and geopolitical realignment, this agreement will strengthen efforts in both markets to promote emerging technologies, renewables, energy and material efficiency, international standards and conformity assessment, and market access.
“International collaboration, information sharing, and harmonization will accelerate our progress in the energy transition, and we look forward to our partnership with Orgalim to advance our common objectives,” said NEMA President and CEO Debra Phillips. “In our cooperation, we are driven by a shared objective: building a more resilient and integrated Transatlantic market for manufacturing advanced and clean technologies. This is vital for Europe and the United States to achieve their climate goals,” said Orgalim Director General Malte Lohan. The MoU reflects the mutual interest of NEMA and Orgalim to increase cooperation and information exchange on matters including trade, regulatory affairs, electrical standards and technology innovation.
