Neutec Pharmaceuticals adds BACnet in Facility Expansion

Neutec Pharmaceutical expanded its 80,000 square foot facility to over 400,000 square feet, and installed BACnet.

May 6, 2013 – . Neutec Pharmaceuticals, a Turkish manufacturer of prescription pharmaceutical products, expanded its 80,000 square foot facility to over 400,000 square feet in late 2012. The system installed includes a fully interoperable BACnet package.

Pharmaceutical manufacturers are subject to stringent storage and reporting requirements with regard to environmental data within the plant, and all critical production and storage areas must have temperature and humidity recorded every 15 minutes in order to maintain compliance with the standard.

“The system has allowed the facility to operate at peak efficiency because we know when we have a problem with our controlled environment long before it is out of tolerance,” stated A. Tarkan Asalkan, General Manager of the Neutec facility. “This allows my facilities staff to take corrective action before we lose any production. The reliability of the control system is unbelievable… This level of control means we can improve production rates by 5-10%, which translates to a lot of money!” “BACnet International’s focus is on facilitating BACnet adoption and user success,” stated Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International.

“It is encouraging to see this evidenced in projects such as Neutec Pharmaceuticals.”

About BACnet International

BACnet International is an industry association that facilitates the successful use of the BACnet protocol in building automation and control systems through interoperability testing, educational programs and promotional activities. The BACnet standard was developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and has been made publicly available so that manufacturers can create interoperable systems of products. BACnet International complements the work of the ASHRAE standards committee and BACnet-related interest groups around the world.

BACnet International members include building owners, consulting engineers and facility managers, as well as companies involved in the design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of control equipment that uses BACnet for communication.
