Northwest Analytical adds Multivariate Alliance tools from Infometrix

By: Northwest Analytics Inc
12 February, 2007
NWA will incorporate Infometrix multivariate technology in NWA SPC and Manufacturing Analytics products. As a result, NWA's customers will be able to perform multivariate SPC and other techniques using NWA Quality Analyst, Quality Monitor, and the embedded QAx and SPCx products based on models developed using Infometrix Pirouette software.

Portland, Oregon – February 12, 2007 - Northwest Analytical, Inc. (NWA) and Infometrix, Inc. have announced an alliance where NWA will incorporate Infometrix’ multivariate technology in the full range of NWA SPC and Manufacturing Analytics products. As a result of this alliance, NWA's customers will be able to perform multivariate SPC and other techniques using NWA Quality Analyst, Quality Monitor, and the embedded QAx and SPCx products based on models developed using the Infometrix Pirouette® software.

This capability specifically addresses the needs of companies requiring an easily deployed solution to perform real-time and off-line multivariate analysis to monitor complex processes, unit operations, and other areas where multivariate analysis offers a significant advantage over univariate techniques. “The adoption of multivariate analysis (MVA) tools is on the rise as companies attempt to gain a better understanding of the complex relationship that exists among numerous variables within their plant environment,” said Tom Fiske, Senior Analyst for ARC Advisory Group and co-author of “Emerging Practices and Strategies for Using Advanced Analytics in Manufacturing.” Dr.

Fiske continues, “MVA techniques are useful for not only providing process and operational insight, but also for early critical condition detection and prevention. ARC believes that companies can differentiate themselves from their competitors by making the use of MVA a core competency.” The combination of NWA software's flexibility, intuitive user interfaces, and ability to connect to a wide range of data sources will allow clients to expand their use of multivariate techniques using familiar software products and support resources. This will particularly appeal to companies in the petrochemical and chemical industries where the use of multivariate analysis is becoming a key technique in improving processes and increasing efficiency.

These products will also address the needs of pharmaceutical companies looking for more easily deployable and supportable software that helps them meet the complex requirements of PAT initiatives. About Northwest Analytical, Inc. For over 25 years, NWA has been the leading supplier of SPC and manufacturing analytics for integrated system applications. NWA quality software has been widely adopted in all process industries including chemicals, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and materials.
