SANTA CLARA, CA - Advanced TCA Summit - October 16, 2007 - Objective Interface Systems announced the OIS Telecommunications Platform, a standards-based, expandable software communications infrastructure for wireless base stations, routers, switches and network hardware. The OIS Telecommunications Platform features ORBexpress RT, ORBexpress DSP and ORBexpress FPGA, OIS’s high-performance communications middleware products. This platform supports a wide variety of hardware architectures in telecommunications systems: general purpose processors (GPPs), digital signal processors (DSPs) and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
This multiple-processor support lets telecommunications systems designers develop code once on a common platform and then easily deploy it to specific multi-processor hardware on an as-needed basis. Based on the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), the OIS Telecommunications Platform allows systems designers to optimize overall throughput of their system without rewriting their communications protocols every time they move features between processors. This preserves the company’s investment in software and gets products to market faster.
