ODVA’s Board has appointed director Cyril Perducat to serve as ODVA’s chairman of the board, director Frank Kulaszewicz as treasurer, and participant from ODVA member Eaton Electrical, Richard Harwell, as chief technology officer (CTO). Also appointed was ODVA senior staff member, Katherine Voss, as president and executive director, responsible for general management of the organization which has headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, and additional operations in China, Germany, Japan and Korea. As CTO, Mr. Harwell will chair ODVA’s Technical Review Board (TRB), which is comprised of representatives from ODVA’s members and oversees ODVA’s technical standards for its networks.

ODVA’s TRB in the 16th term includes returning representatives David VanGompel of Rockwell Automation, Paul Didier of Cisco Systems, Rudy Belliardi of Schneider Electric, and Ludwig Leurs of Bosch Rexroth. Richard Jackson of Omron, Jörg Hähniche of Endress+Hauser, Oliver Kleineberg of Belden and Eric Scott of Molex join the TRB for their first term. “In the upcoming term, ODVA leadership will continue its efforts around machinery integration, energy awareness, and cybersecurity, as well as enhancements to the specification that will secure long-term growth for CIP technologies,” said Katherine Voss, president and executive director, ODVA.

Individuals are appointed or reappointed as officers, directors or TRB representatives for one term, as defined from one annual meeting of the organization’s members to its next annual meeting. Both ODVA’s board of directors and its TRB hold regular meetings throughout the term to fulfill their responsibilities to the organization.

About ODVA

Founded in 1995, ODVA is a global association whose members are comprised of the world’s leading automation companies. ODVA’s mission is to advance open, interoperable information and communication technologies in industrial automation. ODVA recognizes its media independent network protocol, the Common Industrial Protocol or “CIP” – and the network adaptations of CIP – EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, CompoNet and ControlNet – as its core technology and the primary common interest of its membership. ODVA’s vision is to contribute to the sustainability and prosperity of the global community by transforming the model for information and communication technology in the industrial ecosystem.

For future interoperability of production systems and the integration of the production systems with other systems, ODVA embraces the adoption of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and standard, unmodified Internet and Ethernet technologies as a guiding principle wherever possible. This principle is exemplified by EtherNet/IP – the world’s number one industrial Ethernet network.
