UR5

The UR5 robot arm weighs only 40.6 lbs, has a payload of 11 lbs, and reach capabilities of 33.5”. The six-axis robot arm’s repeatability is +/- .004”, allowing quick precision handling of even microscopically small parts.

ROI is typically between 3-8 months. Unlike room-sized, heavy automation technology, the lightweight and flexible UR robot can be used directly alongside humans with no safety guarding; innovative force-sensing technology enables the robot to automatically stop operating if it comes into contact with an employee. Of the more than 2,000 robots sold worldwide, 80% of these operate with no safety guard. A thorough risk assessment must, however, always be carried out prior to operation. Training a UR robot to perform a task can be done via the intuitive touch screen provided with the robot — or by simply grabbing the robot arm to demonstrate desired movement.

The UR-robots can easily be implemented in all sorts and sizes of industry; from small CNC lathe productions to large automobile assembly lines.

UR10

UR 5’s “big brother” UR10 is Universal Robots’ newest addition. Weighing 63.7 lbs, the UR 10 has a payload of 22 lbs and reach capabilities of 51.2”. Due to their low weight, the UR robots are easily moved around the production site to complete new automation tasks and can operate in the smallest of production areas.

Instead ofexpensive sensor technology, the robotic arm utilizes a unique patented technology to measure electrical current in the joints to determine force and movement. This has resulted in an extremely price-competitive solution enabling even small and medium-sized enterprises to automate production that was previously unthinkable. A UR robot doesn’t quit after a year. Rated life is 35,000 hours with full payload and maximum speed. Replacing a joint can be done in 30 minutes.

Both robot arms can withstand significant environmental impact and changes in temperature.
