The full-day "Ethernet in Automation" seminar will cover a variety of topics and will include a preview of several new Opto 22 products (such as the SNAP PAC(tm) family of programmable automation controllers), a demonstration of how easy it is to add Ethernet networking to existing Optomux systems, and an overview and demonstration of the soon-to-be-released ioProject Professional(tm) software suite.
Seminar attendees will discover the benefits of deploying Ethernet in their industrial networks, including cost savings via higher density I/O, and the ability to utilize faster, more powerful, latest generation controllers. A most interesting feature of these "Ethernet in Automation" seminars is the locations in which they are being held. Eschewing the typical conference rooms and hotel ballrooms, these seminars will take place at a variety of unique and meaningful venues. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania seminar, for example, is being held at the world-renowned Carnegie Science Center, famous for its Miniature Railroad and Village exhibit, which is fully controlled and automated by Opto 22 hardware. Other venues include the USS New Jersey aircraft carrier, the Minneapolis St.
Paul airport (also automated by Opto 22 hardware), Detroit's Automation Alley, and Ameriquest Field in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers. Opto 22's "Ethernet in Automation" seminar tour was inspired by the success of the company's recently released Ethernet Optomux(tm) and the forthcoming introduction of the new SNAP PAC family of industrial controllers. Ethernet Optomux refers to next-generation I/O and communication processors (or brain boards) designed to upgrade serial-based Optomux installations to Ethernet.
