March 5, 2015 - In Hanover, 37 companies, research institutes and organizations from OWL will be presenting new solutions at the joint OWL stand (Hall 16, Stand A04). Claas, manufacturers of agricultural machinery, will be demonstrating, for example, how 50% of unused machine capacity can be unlocked by means of softwaresupported optimization of the harvesting process.

Miele, manufacturers of household appliances, will be showing how new methods of “virtual product development” can be applied from the product idea and visualization through to its implementation into the production process.

Research institutes will be demonstrating how they can implement basic technologies for Industry 4.0 into company applications. One example is the SmartFactoryOWL in Lemgo, a joint initiative of the Fraunhofer Application Centers Industrial Automation and the OstwestfalenLippe University of Applied Sciences. Here, the most important areas of activity in the intelligent factory, such as adaptability, resource efficiency and humanmachine interaction, are researched and tested under real conditions.
