July 11, 2013 - PAS appointed Richard Powell Manager of Cyber Security Solutions. Powell will lead the company in cyber security solutions development and strategy. “I am delighted to welcome Richard to the PAS team as a proven cyber security leader in the industry,” said Mark Carrigan, Vice President of Business Lines, PAS. “His prior experiences in cyber security compliance and NERC CIP development for the energy industry make him a valuable member of the company as we continue our growth in cyber security solutions.” Powell is an experienced cyber security expert that has worked in the electric industry for over 13 years.
With deep knowledge in security and infrastructure protection, he will oversee the development and strategy in cyber security offerings. “PAS is an exciting company that has achieved impressive growth through innovative software technology for the industrial industries,” said Powell. “I am excited to work with a talented team and look forward to contributing to the company’s future success.” Prior to joining PAS, Powell was Senior Manager of Cyber Consulting for Corporate Risk Solution where he managed compliance projects for electric utilities across the country. He has led cyber security compliance and information security for JEA, a large municipal utility in Jacksonville, FL.
He has been involved in the development of the NERC cyber security standards for the energy industry as a member of the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee (CIPC) and is active in security industry groups including Infragard and ISACA. Powell is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
