During each one-hour session, industry experts will lead discussions about the latest technology developments in smart infrastructure and buildings. The free events will be held every other Tuesday, beginning on July 14, from 11 a.m. until noon.

July 13, 2020 Phoenix Contact will host its fifth annual Smart Communities conference in an online-only format this year. The company will livestream a three-part series of technology workshops focusing on how the Internet of Things (IoT) helps to integrate smart buildings into smart cities. During each one-hour session, industry experts will lead discussions about the latest technology developments in smart infrastructure and buildings.

The free events will be held every other Tuesday, beginning on July 14, from 11 a.m. until noon. Topics include:

July 14 11 a.m. to noon “IoT – the key to unlocking the full potential of the EV charging infrastructure.” Oleg Logvinov, co-founder, president, and CEO of IoTecha Corporation, will discuss recent developments and future impacts of IoT in electric vehicle charging infrastructure.  
July 28 11 a.m. to noon “Fundamentals of designing an OT network to address cybersecurity to integration requirements.” Greg Fitzpatrick, CxA, will explain the differences between IT and OT and the importance of OT networks in addressing cybersecurity and system integration requirements.  
August 11 11 a.m. to noon   “An overview of tag database standardization in building automation.” Kurt Twiford and Rusty Hennessey of Conexus will share best practices in tag databases in building automation.  

Participants who attend all three sessions may be eligible for continuing education units (CEUs).
