March 12, 2013 - Pilz and TÜV NORD will provide CMSE - Certified machinery Safety Expert Training. Course dates have already been released for Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Netherlands and UK. Courses in other countries will follow. CMSEis an international training certification in the field of machinery safety. It deals with the complex technical issues surrounding machinery safety and enables an understanding of the lifecycle - from legislation, standards and safeguarding techniques to a detailed review of functional safety areas.
This training is primarily of interest to design engineers, project, safety and development engineers from the field of automation technology and maintenance engineers. Technical purchasers will also benefit from this certification. During the 4-day course, Pilz trains delegates to the level of qualified machinery safety experts, who will then be in a position to apply their knowledge not just domestically but internationally. Divided into five modules with lectures, discussions and workshops, the course covers the key fundamentals of this field. These include application of the current standards, as well as practical risk assessment and health and safety procedures, plus a detailed presentation of modern safety technology and the application of functional safety for control systems.
The CMSE– Certified Machinery Safety Expert training course is TÜV NORDcertified upon the successful completion of an examination at the end of training Certification confirms that individuals have expert knowledge in the field of machinery safety. The benefit is two-fold in that companies also benefit from having qualified, specialist staff to implement safety company-wide throughout the organisation. With this international training certification the partners TÜV NORD CERT and Pilz wish to set worldwide standards for continuing education and training in the field of machinery safety. “In the past, machinery safety has always been very national in character. With globalisation and international directives, alignment of fundamental standards has become unavoidable.
We believe that the same principles must apply worldwide: to create a safe working environment for anyone using and servicing machinery. The CMSE course is an important step in the right direction”, say Jaime Alonso, Technical Director of Pilz International Services Group (Pilz GmbH & Co. KG) and Prof. Dr. Ulrich Adolph, head of technology at TÜV NORD CERT, to summarise.
