February 28, 2010 - ProSoft Technology released the MVI56E Modbus TCP/IP (MVI56E-MNET) Enhanced Communication Modules for Rockwell Automation ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs), designed to easily interface with devices using the Modbus TCP/IP protocol including Modicon PAC’s as well as a wide variety of instruments and devices. The MVI56E Modbus TCP/IP Communication Module is available in the following variations:
- The MVI56E-MNETR module uses a small I/O data image for scaling I/O to the application.
- The MVI56E-MNETXT module for Rockwell Automation’s new Logix-XT platform is conformal coated and conforms to the EN60079-0 and EN60079-15 standards for caustic and extreme environment applications, allowing them to operate in extreme temperature ranges from -25° C to 70° C.
It is ideal for ControlNet or Ethernet applications with the module in a remote rack.
MVI56E modules are backward-compatible, sharing ladder logic and module configuration files with existing MVI56 Modbus TCP/IP Communication Modules in the field.
This allows users to easily upgrade existing modules and protect their investments, while benefiting from an array of new features designed to improve interoperability and enhance the user experience.

CIPconnect-enabled
Enables module configuration and diagnostics through an EtherNet/IP connection routed or bridged over multiple paths via 1756-ENxT and/or 1756-CNB modules, allowing users with an established Ethernet network to connect to the module from anywhere on the (EtherNet/IP and/or ControlNet) network
Personality Module
An industrial-grade compact flash memory card is provided for storing all of the module’s set-up and configuration data for quick and easy replacement of modules in the field
LED Scrolling Diagnostic Display
