April 28, 2011 – R. Stahl announces Splice cassette, an explosion-protected splice cassette with Ex op pr ignition protection, Featuring an Ex e enclosure, the cassette ensures easy installation: cable feeds are possible on all four sides, and spare cable lengths can be easily stored within the cassette.
The cassette is equipped with one or two splice protection holders which allow for up to six cable connections each. For each holder, six shrink splice protectors and two cable ties are included in delivery. An integrated cross-over field enables the cross-bonding of fibres limited by the bending radius. The cassette can be installed in Ex e connection chambers as a transfer point between flameproof control panels and cables leading into the field, or for direct connections between field stations.
Measuring 210 x 104 x 10 mm, it is manufactured from flame retardant, halogen-free plastic (ABS/PC). The splice cassettes are delivered in suitable Ex e enclosures that can be tailored to customer and application requirements and are available in various sizes and types.
