Feb. 8, 2021 - Radix Engineering and Software and Klabin will jointly present a data analytics case study as part of the ARC Annual Industry Forum , Feb. 8-11, 2021. The conference track, IT/OT Convergence: A Foundation for Digital Transformation will explore how companies have successfully linked their OT systems to their IT systems, including technical and cultural hurdles and challenges that need to be overcome; and actual benefits achieved versus expectations.
The IT/OT track will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. EST. Klabin, the largest Paper manufacturer and exporter in Brazil, and Radix, a global IT/OT consulting firm, will discuss how Digital Transformation and data migration to cloud computing are bringing new challenges and solutions to industry.
Among the findings:
- Unification of databases improved productive processes and yielded a near real-time system with all data stored in the cloud;
- Data analysis and reporting were reduced from days to a few minutes;
- Analysis tools such as line plots, box plots, bar plots, histograms, and machine learning algorithms (like Partial Least Square and Principate Component Analysis) provide vital data analytics to Klabin;
- Data Analytics tools provide better process analysis, aiding failure investigation with the identification of specification variables, loss reduction, and relevant information for better decision making for processes, products, and markets.
Presenters will be Justin Conroy, Radix’ Program Manager, and Julimar Junior Bonicenha, Senior Engineer with Klabin’s Process Development Team. Commented Julimar: “There are many cloud computing initiatives focused on a delimited scenario and study. Our challenge at Klabin was a little different, and required a more specific development. In collaboration with the Radix team, we developed a discovery and study solution, which will enable our engineers to analyze the entire universe of process data, and provide insights that improve the process and quality of our products.
