April 16, 2007 - Hoffman Estates, IL – Bosch Rexroth offers the IndraMotion for Trans system, a new scalable single axis control solution specifically designed to replace legacy motion controls found in thousands of metal cutting tools. Based on its digital IndraDrive platform, the Rexroth IndraMotion for Trans system is an economical replacement to the company’s former Indramat Trans-01 blue box and DSC drive, the Trans-01 + TVM/TDM drive, and the Trans-01 +KDV/KDS drive. The digital IndraDrive consists of the power amplifier and a scalable controller section, which offers an integrated IEC61131-3 PLC. An IndraMotion for Trans control solution comprises ready-to-use software that runs on the IndraDrive controller section and the Rexroth VCP08 operator panel.

The solution offers easy connectivity and startup with almost identical functionality as the Trans-01. Project data management, startup, adaptations, and reuse of engineering are easy to do with the uniform Rexroth IndraWorks engineering software. The IndraDrive uses uniform power and controller sections (to 160kw) with advanced performance. The IndraDrive can operate Rexroth IndraDyn induction, permanent magnet, rotary or linear motors using standard position feedback systems. IndraDrive can be equipped with EN954-1 Category 3 compliant Safety on Board technology.

Redundant control provides a very short 2 msec response time, which is required for today’s machinery with high accelerations and speeds.

Modes such as safe drive lockout, safe operational stop, reduced speed, safe directions, etc., and direct control of the safety door lock, plus background wire pulse testing, increase safety and productivity.Bosch Rexroth AG, part of the Bosch Group, achieved sales of approximately $6.2 billion (4.9 billion Euro) in 2006 with over 29,800 employees.

Under the brand name of Rexroth the company offers all drive and control technologies, from mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics to electronics and associated service. Over 500,000 customers worldwide utilize Rexroth’s unique technological know-how to implement their innovative and future-oriented systems and machine concepts. The global player, represented in over 80 countries, is an extensive supplier of components and systems for industrial and factory automation and mobile applications.
