Scalable Functionality

The IndraDrive incorporates Rexroth servo-drive and frequency-converter technology into one platform. With an optional drive-integrated, IEC61131-3-compliant PLC, plus built-in safety technology and motion function-block programming, the IndraDrive eliminates the need for a traditional PLC on small machines. The IndraDrive supports all standard communication protocols including SERCOS, PROFIBUS, CANopen, DeviceNet and INTERBUS, as well as analog and parallel interfaces. The drives can also be equipped with additional encoder interfaces, industry-specific technology functions and cross-synchronization.

Scalable Power

The IndraDrive’s modular platform offers cost-effective scalability in terms of power. The drives units, available as servo or vector, cover the entire output spectrum – from 1.5 to 120 kW. The power supply units are available as either regenerative or non-regenerative units.

Scalable Performance

Both open- and closed-loop control of the motor are available on the same platform. The basic software package for servo drive operations contains all the required basic functions such as positioning batch processing, position control, speed control, and torque control. Standardized expansion packages include axis error correction, main spindle functions, axis synchronization, electronic camshaft gears, and technology packages based on the integrated motion and logic. The latest function is a productivity agent for early fault detection in machine mechanics. Using Rexroth’s new intelligent IndraDrive, creating an efficient system for predictive maintenance is no longer a complex challenge.

Scalable Safety

The IndraDrive’s “Safety on Board” feature offers the most advanced integrated safety functions for "safe standstill" and "safe motion". Rexroth’s Safety on Board technology is certified according to EN 954-1, Category 3. The Safety on Board feature is independent of any controller system commanding to the IndraDrive. Rexroth’s wizard-based commissioning software, DriveTop, makes configuring each axis with Safety on Board a breeze. In North America, the Bosch Group manufacturers and markets automotive original equipment and aftermarket products, industrial automation and mobile products, power tools and accessories, security technology, packaging equipment and household appliances.

Bosch Rexroth Corporation, a merger of Bosch Automation Technology and Rexroth, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH. In the year 2004, Bosch Rexroth AG achieved sales of approximately $5.3 billion (4.1 billion Euros) with 26,400 employees. Under the brand name of Rexroth, the company offers all relevant drive, control and motion technologies: from mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics to electronics and associated services.

Rexroth has 500,000 customers in over 80 countries and is an extensive supplier of components and systems for industrial and factory automation and mobile applications.Visit their website at www.boschrexroth-us.com .
