June 26, 2011 – RMT Robotics will supply a multi-gantry cured tire palletizing and shipping buffer system to Hanwha TechM Inc.. Hanwha TechM is the factory automation division of Hanwha Corporation, one of South Korea’s largest industrial engineering companies and RMT’s sales and installation partner for Korea. The gantry system is scheduled to be fully installed within a Korean Tire Manufacturing facility in the fourth quarter of 2011. “Hanwha TechM is currently integrating factory automation solutions within the Korean tire manufacturing market and supplying its customer with highly efficient and proven systems,” says Don Heelis, Global Sales Manager of Tire Systems at RMT Robotics.
“This order confirms our reputation as a global supplier and augments our installation base in the Korean Peninsula.” The RMT cured tire system directs tires toward a bank of gantry robots, which are capable of sorting hundreds of concurrent codes and storing thousands of tires at once. Inventory is stored on the floor beneath the gantry in product groups for later sequential release in stacks or singles for palletizing or to the loading dock. For longer-term storage, the stacker gantries are able to palletize on demand; completed pallets are removed for warehouse storage. The RMT Robotics cured tire gantry system reduces overall operational costs, minimizes floor space requirements and improves product tracking accuracy.
Other benefits of the gantry system include electronic inventory management, fully automated distribution from final finish to dock and scalable picking for single or multiple tire quantities configurable for direct ship or pallet load shipments.
