June 22, 2011 – RMT Robotics will supply an automated passenger tire palletizing system to Bridgestone in Europe. The RMT cured tire system is an integrated network of in-feed conveyor, robotic stacker gantries, palletizing robots and unit load handling system designed to automatically manage 100 percent of tires produced in the facility. The system will robotically reconcile a random in-feed of tires from production and assemble tire stacks for controlled release in stack quantities for palletizing. The RMT Robotics cured tire gantry system routinely handles the cured tires while minimizing the plant’s floor space requirements. Additional benefits include providing the ability to track tires with 100 percent accuracy throughout the handling and palletizing processes.
The gantry system is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2011. The order demonstrates RMT’s capabilities as a global supplier to the tire industry. The Bridgestone facility in Europe will take advantage of RMT’s unique capabilities to construct an automation system to meet their specific needs.
