May 20, 2010 - Saelig Company announced R-LITE GSM/GPRS remote monitoring system that ensures crucial information can be transmitted directly to a cell-phone (or optionally to a secure website). Real-time information can be automatically transmitted at scheduled intervals, or simply queried by sending an SMS inquiry. Lightweight and compact, R-LITE features two digital inputs,2 analog/Digital inputs, one digital output and one RS232/Rs485 connection, with other I/O options available also. R-LITE's internal quad- band GSM modem, along with its user-friendly application software, allows maintenance and configuration to be done either locally, via cable, or remotely via cell-phone or modem.
R-LITE can be used as a standalone unit either with direct inputs, or connected to a PLC for controlling the PLC's I/O lines and registers. R- LITE is an extremely versatile communication tool for PLCs, supporting Modbus, Unitronics, Hostlink and many other serial communication protocols. It can serve as a cellular gateway for a PLC, enabling complete, interactive, mobile phone control and communication, or for just downloading stored data files. Additionally, with R-LITE Web, direct measurement of remote devices and sensors can be made via GSM/GPRS, with the logged data sent straight to a secure Web browser. Crucial data can also be simultaneously sent by SMS to a cell-phone, providing urgent information instantly.
Data is logged locally into R-LITE Web's internal 32K NVRAM with a sample rate of at least once a minute and sent to the online Web server via the cellular network (GPRS). The supplied HMI software is designed to support many application areas and can be tailored specifically to the project needs. The R-LITE family provides 24/7 global communication coverage for automatic SMS alert messages, SMS I/O inquiries and SMS I/O settings.
