Security standards committee completes ballot

The ISA99 committee recently completed a ballot on the standard, ISA-62443.03.03 (99.03.03), Security for Industrial Automation and Control Systems: System Security Requirements and Security Assurance Levels.

Closing on October 27, 2011, the ballot passed with 18 approval votes and five disapproval votes. Reflecting the widespread interest in the draft, more than 500 comments were received during the ballot process. These comments will be reviewed and responded to in the coming months by ISA99 Work Group 4. This exercise may lead to further improvements to the draft. At the same time, and as a clear indication of the global interest in the work of ISA99, the draft is currently being circulated to IEC TC65 for voting, with results due in mid-March 2012.

Approval at this level will result in the release of the international version, IEC 62443-3-3. Anyone interested in more detailed information is asked to visit the committee Wiki site at http://isa99.isa.org/ISA99%20Wiki/Home.aspx Eric Cosman ISA99 Co-Chair
