September 30, 2010 - Semaphore'e T-BOX WM Wireless Monitor has successfully passed all third party criteria and testing for operation in ATEX Zone 1 hazardous areas. The ultra-low-power, battery-operated Wireless Monitor is ideal for installation in remote areas in which it supervises assets in the chemical, environmental, oil & gas, transportation, utility, and water / wastewater industries. This new approval significantly expands the applications for the compact, Wireless Monitor integrated package. ATEX Zone 1 approval allows the Wireless Monitor to operate in an atmosphere where a mixture of air and flammable substances in the form of gas, vapor, or mist is likely to occur in normal operation occasionally.
Typical locations are those in natural gas measurement installations as well as certain water / wastewater processes such as digesters and sewer lines.
