Siemens announced the winners of its third annual Techcellence Awards for Europe at Realize LIVE Europe 2026 in Amsterdam.

June 30, 2026 — Siemens announced the winners of its third annual Techcellence Awards for Europe, at Realize LIVE Europe 2026 in Amsterdam. Now in its third year, Siemens’ Techcellence Awards brings recognition to companies and individuals that are empowering change through transformation and sustainability, as well as individuals who are leading through innovation and acting as a champion for digital technology and sharing their knowledge with the Siemens community. This year also sees the introduction of a new award, recognizing companies that are designing, developing and deploying AI technologies with integrity and purpose.

“Across Europe, industrial companies are rethinking how they innovate, collaborate and scale in a more sustainable and resilient way,” said Edwin Severijn, senior vice president and general manager for Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), Siemens Digital Industries Software. “The Techcellence Awards recognize organizations and individuals that are turning ambition and vision into measurable progress — using digital technologies not only to respond to market change, but to lead it. This year’s winners demonstrate how the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio can help accelerate digital transformation, strengthen sustainability outcomes and support the responsible adoption of industrial AI with transparency, accountability and integrity.”

The Digital Transformation award recognizes a sustainable digital enterprise that fully integrates digital technologies while driving transformation in new and innovative ways to achieve digital objectives and streamline processes faster, easier and at scale. Siemens celebrates this organization for its strategic digital transformation vision by using Siemens' solutions and aligning technology initiatives with long-term goals and objectives.

Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) is a Formula 1 team operating across dual engineering bases in Faenza, Italy and Milton Keynes, UK, building one of the most technically complex cars in the world. With sweeping 2026 FIA regulation changes demanding a complete car overhaul and a 30kg weight reduction, VCARB leaned fully into their long-term Siemens partnership to deliver. The goal was a single digital backbone connecting every stage of car development, from first concept to race day, across two countries in real time. Using the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, VCARB unified design, simulation, composite engineering and manufacturing into one connected workflow. Siemens’ Teamcenter software served as the central digital thread linking both global offices and, notably, the FIA itself, streamlining compliance and approval. Each physical test on the structures was first tested and calculated with Siemens tools and this guaranteed the first-time passage of the FIA homologation tests.

New for the Techcellence Awards this year, the Responsible AI award recognizes the customer that is embedding ethical considerations and principles into their industrial AI projects, demonstrating a commitment to transparency, fairness and accountability. Siemens is celebrating this customer for demonstrating how their work pushes boundaries and improves industry best practices for responsible AI.

BSH Hausgeräte GmbH is leveraging Siemens’ AI technologies to enhance its manufacturing processes, particularly in automation and robotics. Their focus is on improving time to market, quality and operator well-being through responsible AI implementation. BSH set out to integrate responsible AI directly into their standard IT platforms and solutions, not to replace engineering expertise, but to democratize the processes within. Their vision is an AI-powered environment where manufacturing engineers at every experience level can tackle complex manufacturing challenges with confidence, drive faster decisions and where shopfloor data is used within an automated AI supported continuous improvement process.

The Sustainability impact award celebrates an organization that demonstrates exceptional commitment to sustainability by leveraging Siemens technologies to drive positive environmental and social impact. It recognizes organizations that have used Siemens’ technologies to integrate decarbonization and energy efficiency practices to yield measurable impacts across the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Emissions Scopes 1, 2 and 3.

Rolls-Royce develops and delivers complex power and propulsion solutions for safety-critical applications in the air, at sea and on land. They are committed to making their products compatible with net zero carbon emissions to meet customer demand for more sustainable solutions. Sustainability is a core pillar of their business strategy - shaping product development, operational efficiency and next-generation propulsion. Rolls-Royce set out to make sustainability measurable, actionable and embedded across the entire product lifecycle, not just in the finished product, but in how it is designed, manufactured, operated and eventually retired. Rolls-Royce deployed Siemens’ digital twin technology at the heart of its product development process, using high-fidelity virtual models to optimize durability, maintainability and upgradeability across complex power systems. By resolving performance and sustainability trade-offs in simulation rather than through physical iteration, material waste is minimized and design decisions are validated before manufacturing begins. Siemens sensors and IoT solutions were deployed across manufacturing facilities and testbeds to collect real-time data on energy consumption, water usage and emissions turning sustainability from a qualitative commitment into a quantified, continuously monitored operational metric. Analytics and reporting tools transform that data into actionable decisions across the product lifecycle, from design through manufacturing and into in-service operations.

The Innovation Leader award honors a Siemens’ customer who exemplify creativity and forward-thinking innovative applications of Siemens technologies and solutions and how they address challenges, improve processes or create new opportunities within their organizations or industries. These trailblazers are generating groundbreaking ideas, products or processes that redefine what is possible. We recognize and celebrate these customers that leverage Siemens technologies and solutions to drive organizational progress.

Nico Merte, an engineering innovation leader at Weber Food Technology, led the simulation-driven development of a groundbreaking food processing pick robot. Working at the interface of academic research and industrial application, he integrated model-based systems engineering (MBSE), manufacturing-aware generative design and multi-physics validation into a single iterative workflow. Merte redefined how Weber develops complex food processing systems entirely. By uniting RWTH Aachen University, Siemens, investment casting specialists and robotics partners under one model-based engineering process, he united research and industry and delivered a production-ready innovation that debuted with a world-record performance at IFFA 2025.
