3600-L/LB monitors for flames by sensing the radiant energy of the flame in a short wave section of both the ultraviolet and infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum.
February 2, 2011 – Sierra Monitor releases Model 3600-L/LB UV/IR Optical Flame Detectors with ATEX approval. The 3600-L/LB, used to monitor for flames from gasoline, methane, heptanes, ethanol, diesel fuel and other sources, senses the radiant energy of the flame in a short wave section of both the ultraviolet and infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. The signals from both sensors are analyzed for the frequency, intensity and duration. Simultaneous detection in both the UV and IR sensors triggers an alarm signal and counters false alarms.Key features of the Model 3600-L/LB UV/IR Flame Detectors are:
- UV/IR Dual Sensor
- High Speed Response of 150 msec
- ATEX approval
- Solar blind
- Heated window for operation in harsh environments
- Multiple outputs:relays, 0-20 mA, HART, Modbus RTU (RS-485)
- Reliable with a minimum of 150,000 hours MTBF
- SIL-2 rated
- User programmable via HART
- Automatic Built-in Test (BIT) on LB model to assure continued reliable operation
