SMAC introduces LCA8 linear actuator
LCA8 has independent control of position, speed, and force, and its Soft-Land capability allows the actuator to land on parts gently and then apply required forces.

January 23, 2013 - SMAC announces LCA8 linear actuators, designed to replace pneumatic cylinders. The LCA8 is compact, measuring only 50mm x 95mm x 8mm for 10mm stroke, the stroke range will extend up to 50mm. The actuator can achieve peak force 5N at 3Amp, and acceleration up to >20G. The unit is available with a vacuum shaft and spring option. This makes the unit ideal for pick & place and assembly applications.

The LCA8 is offered with encoder resolution of 5 micron as standard, and 1 or 0.1 micron optional. The unit is also useful for measuring & testing operations where high speed & accuracy are required. The unit also enables 100% data feedback of all operations as standard. The unit can offer a long life expectancy due to linear guides with built in lubrication.

LCA8 linear actuator has independent control of position, speed, and force. Further to this, its Soft-Land capability is incorporated to allow the actuator to land on parts gently and then apply required forces. This is ideal for handling fragile or expensive components and material. The actuator also has the ability to do work and simultaneously provide feedback about the success or failure of the work done.
