This module is an ideal choice for integrating wireless data transmission into existing field devices allowing manufacturers to develop new WirelessHART field devices that cover all requirements of today’s process automation market. The WD-H combines field-proven hardware, based on standard components, with a conformant and high-performance protocol stack. The small form-factor enables device manufacturers to integrate this economical module into the majority of field devices available today. Many companies have factored-in Softing's experience in integrating communication modules when relying on the WD-H wirelessHART module as their standard solution.
The WD-H module successfully merges a very low power consumption with the capability of long-distance data transmission. Furthermore, its rugged design with an appropriate ATEX certification allows the module to be used in hazardous environments.
