October 1, 2012 - Software Toolbox released Dream Report Version 4.5, the latest upgrade to its real-time reporting solution for industrial automation featuring a variety of new features and enhancements. Dream Report Version 4.5 introduces a new internal project parameters function that allows users to configure internal tags that act as global variables and can be referenced in multiple reports. Changing the value of the variable in one report updates the variable in all other reports in the project where it is referenced.
The variable can be updated from the web controls in the Web Portal, or through the Manual Values Editor utility for flexible configuration changes that only have to be made once. New aggregated data filters enable generation of actionable information from raw data stored in the database. These filters allow Dream Report to perform intelligent retrieval of data from the database, such as calculating the sum or the average of logged values once an hour, once a day or any configurable time period. These aggregated values are superior to raw data because they can be used for more informed management decision-making. Additional features further enhance Dream Report’s ease-of-use and maintainability.
New advanced database archiving tools enable users to automatically archive old data, removing it from the active database and compressing it into a specific storage location. This maximizes storage capacity without manual maintenance or loss of valued archival data. Dream Report Version 4.5 also offers expanded report storage options which include CSV file report generation. Reports can now be automatically transferred to a specified FTP server for expanded access options.
Dream Report is easy to use yet powerful enough to work effectively with professional databases -- such as SQL Server 2005/2008 and Oracle -- with no programming or database development skills.
