ORLANDO, FL, October 27, 2004 (Automation Fair) – Sola/Hevi-Duty, a leading supplier of power quality solutions, offers its industrial control transformers with factory installed WA and WB fusing options to help customers comply with UL Standard 508, NEC430-72(C) and NEC450.3(B), while also reducing the expense and time associated with installation.The installation time of an industrial control transformer with factory installed fusing options is reduced up to 40%, according to Sola/Hevi-Duty engineers. Sola/Hevi-Duty WA and WB factory installed fuse options are available on the most common industrial control transformers through 1000 VA. The WA option includes a two pole, primary fuse holder for Class “CC” fuses and a secondary fuse holder that accepts a type 3AG or equivalent glass fuse.
The WB option uses the same primary fuse holder and includes a secondary fuse holder that accepts a type FNM or equivalent fuse. Finger safe terminal covers for both the WA and WB are included with the package. A clear cover molded from a rugged, fire-resistant plastic also provides maximum visibility of the fuse and terminal connections. The transformer units feature a solid epoxy encapsulation to permit more efficient heat dissipation for cooler operation.
Other performance-enhancing features include copper, interleaved windings, electrical grade steel laminations and a 105 Degree C. insulation system.
