ROSEMONT, IL, November 2005 – Sola/Hevi-Duty, a leading supplier of power quality solutions, has introduced a new W factory installed fusing option designed for its SBE Encapsulated industrial control transformers. The addition of the W fusing option further extends a designer’s ability to tailor a system to meet their specific needs while reducing the expense and time associated with fuse installation.The W factory installed fusing solution includes a two pole primary Class ‘CC’ type fuse holder and secondary Midget type fuse holder. This preassembled unit ranges from 50 VA up to 1000 VA for the standard SBE series control transformers.
Alternate secondary fusing (type 3AG Glass) can also be ordered separately.The W fusing option joins Sola/Hevi-Duty’s current WA and WB all-inclusive factory installed fusing solutions to increase the suite of accessories available for the SBE Encapsulated series. This flexibility helps customers comply with UL Standards and National Electric Code requirements for proper primary fusing on the input of all control transformers. The addition of secondary fusing allows the use of larger primary fuse sizes to prevent nuisance tripping. The SBE industrial control transformer units feature a solid epoxy encapsulation to permit more efficient heat dissipation for cooler operation.
Other performance-enhancing features include copper, interleaved windings, electrical grade steel laminations and a 105°C insulation system.
