AUGUST 27, 2019 – Sunnen Products Company is expanding its global production footprint, opening a manufacturing facility in Monterrey Mexico to complement its production in the U.S., China, Switzerland, and Brazil. The company will move a portion of its abrasive and tooling products from its St. Louis operation to the Monterrey facility.

The transition will be phased to begin by the end of 2019 and conclude by the end of 2020. The company expects minimal impact on staffing levels in St. Louis with this transition and will reassign most employees to fill needs in other areas.

Sunnen, a family-owned business, remains committed to its employee base and to St. Louis. The company recognizes that diversification of the labor pools from which it draws its highly skilled workforce needs to expand in order to meet the demands of its customers.

Sunnen is an integrated manufacturer of precision bore creation and finishing equipment. Sunnen’s customers, and their applications, span a range of industries. The product line includes honing, lapping, skiving/roller burnishing systems, and deep hole drilling tools, abrasives, and accessories. Sunnen employs 650 people worldwide, with offices, manufacturing and technical support facilities in Europe, China, India, Brazil, and the US.
