February 3, 2010 - SweetWilliam introduced ScadaMobile 1.3, which adds support for Allen Bradley Logix controllers through Ethernet/IP. ScadaMobile already supports Modbus/TCP protocol and Omron controllers. With this release the App scales up to the next level and consolidates as the first native Scada application software for the iPhone platform. ScadaMobile for iPhone and iPod touch is aimed at PLC software developers, plant engineers, plant operators or maintenance people who need instant access to real time information and data from PLC controlled processes.
ScadaMobile deployment consists on four simple steps: 1- Create Source Files with process variables specification and export as CSV files in Excel or Open Office. Files generated by common PLC software development environments such as Allen Bradley RSLogix or Omron CX-Programmer are also supported. 2- Setup optional passwords and access settings. Set display attributes and communication settings. 3- Import Source Files into ScadaMobile using a standard PC Web browser.
Deploy in a number of iPhones and iPod Touch. 4- ScadaMobile will allow you to instantly access your PLC controlled process via wireless intranet or internet. With ScadaMobile users can supervise (display and change) process variables from multiple PLCs or RTUs. Real time information is presented in an all-in-one interface where variables can be arranged and grouped in Pages and Sections for quick retrieval. Data from multiple sources can be easily combined for convenience with independence of their particular location or PLC brand.
ScadaMobile has been designed for high performance and developed using iPhone OS native code, the result is a highly efficient application, which is completely free from the typical delays and waitings of web based solutions. This feature is particularly appreciated by users. The User Interface features a tabbed design for easy navigation through the various application views, which allows for services specifically addressed at PLC integrators to run in the background as process variables are being monitored. Particularly, it is possible to send live changes of variables and their attributes by using ScadaMobile's embedded file server alongside a PC web browser.
Source file updates are immediately committed to the main view and displayed with no need to switch views or to navigate through layers of settings. A new Connections tab provides a means to troubleshoot common networking issues and to keep track of links established with PLCs or RTUs as well as to review source files global attributes. An extended set of display attributes contain more configuration possibilities for variables allowing for additional ways of user interaction with remote sites. Essential features of ScadaMobile include: High Efficiency and Versatility, up to 9 User Access Levels with Password, TCP/IP based Security (TLS/SSL, L2TP/IP-SEC) for remote connections, Support for a complete set of Scalar Data Types, Cost effectiveness, and more.
ScadaMobile has been successfully deployed in iPods or iPhones as an add-on to existing solutions or as a standalone terminal for supervising Power Plants (Mini Hydro or Solar), Buildings, Farms, Green Houses, Sport Centers, Production Facilities, and Automation Labs. Other identified possibilities include Water & Waste Water, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Environment and more. ScadaMobile is available in two versions.
ScadaMobile 1.3 is the full app, with unlimited tags and it sells for $74.99. ScadaMobile Lite is limited to monitoring a maximum of 4 tags for evaluation purposes and it can be downloaded for $2.99.
From version 1.3 ScadaMobile Lite will now display the complete list of sourced tags so integrators and users can see the whole picture before having to purchase the Full App. Just as any other iPhone app, ScadaMobile is available on the App Store and requires an iTunes account. A single ScadaMobile purchase can be freely installed in any number of iPhone/iPod touch devices sharing the same iTunes account.
SweetWilliam, S.L. policy is to keep providing improvements and features based on user feedback and never charge for a new release.
