December 5, 2010 - Toshiba announced the IK-WD12A mini-dome IP network video camera expressly designed for indoor deployment. The IK-WD12A captures two-megapixel resolution (1600 x 1200) video at up to 30 frames-per-second in both MPEG4 and M-JPEG formats for simultaneous real-time monitoring and high-resolution recording. Megapixel performance delivers the ability to cover an expansive area with a single IK-WD12A equal to that of four standard resolution (640 x 480) cameras, saving potentially hundreds of dollars in equipment, IP camera licenses and installation costs. Because the IK-WD12A incorporates 350° pan, 85° to -35° tilt and 3x optical zoom, it can be fixed to provide exact viewing of a targeted area.
Its flexible design is further enhanced by Power over Ethernet (PoE) that permits mounting of the camera where electrical power is not available. In addition, a true day/night IR cut filter lets it literally "see in the dark" with light sensitivities down to 0.04 lux for around-the-clock monitoring.Motion detection, alarm recording with email notification, and two-way audio with built-in microphone qualify the IK-WD12A for the most challenging indoor IP video installations. A tampering alarm alerts users instantly if a camera has been obstructed or vandalized, while the camera's compact footprint eases installation and its stylized housing will match the ambience within the most elegant surroundings.
