Nov. 21, 2025 – Siemens is expanding its service portfolio with Circular Repair Services, enabling the refurbishment and remanufacturing of Siemens’ automation products. These services help companies advance toward a circular economy by restoring non-functioning devices, optimizing resources, and reducing scrap. The new offering enables companies to operate their Siemens devices cost-effectively and reliably, increasing plant availability while making lifecycle costs more predictable.
“With Circular Repair Services, companies can choose the extent to which they want to restore the performance and appearance of their Siemens devices to high-quality”, stated Marc Konrad, Head of Global Customer Services for Motion Control. “This comprehensive offering helps our customers extend the useful life of products, use resources more effectively, achieve reliable efficiency and is therefore the direct answer to the market requests we have received.”
Understanding the full scope of Circular Repair Services
Circular repair advanced: Through this refurbishment process by Circular Repair Advanced, companies benefit from their products being restored to full performance, with preventive measures applied in a reliable and cost-effective way. This offering covers various Siemens automation product families, including selected Simatic HMI Panels and Simatic IPCs, as well as industrial drives such as selected Sinumerik, Sinamics S and Simodrive products.
Siemens’ service experts identify the root cause of non-functioning or worn-out devices by examining all relevant components. Non-functioning and heavily worn parts are replaced to restore full performance. Minor cosmetic blemishes on the housing that do not affect functionality remain untouched. Software and firmware updates are applied if required in view of current safety and industry standards, without modifying the original purpose and functions. Each function of the product is meticulously tested according to Siemens’ high-quality standards.
Circular Repair Premium with 24-month warranty: This service represents the most comprehensive Siemens’ repair offering. It covers Siemens automation products such as selected Sinumerik, Sinamics S, and Simodrive products.
During Siemens’ Circular Repair Premium remanufacturing process, service experts fully disassemble the device and thoroughly inspect each component to identify the exact root cause of a malfunction with the help of artificial intelligence. To ensure full performance and reliability, non-functioning components and damaged housings are systematically replaced.
Additionally, parts that are still functional but likely to break down soon are replaced with original, factory-tested components to ensure high-quality and durability. If the original housing shows signs of wear, it is replaced to restore the device’s original appearance. The device is then updated to the latest software and firmware versions, and all relevant hardware components are renewed as needed to achieve full technical equivalence with the original purpose and functions.
After reassembly, the product undergoes extensive testing according to Siemens’ high-quality standards and specifications as the original manufacturer. By combining original parts with expert knowledge, companies receive their devices restored to as-new performance and appearance, meeting high-quality standards. This Siemens remanufacturing approach also provides customers with a 24-month warranty on the entire device.
Companies benefit from Circular Repair Services by Siemens through extended product lifetimes, increased plant availability enabled by our global network of Repair Centers and high-quality repairs from the original manufacturer, supporting their transition from a linear to a circular economy.
The new offering is initially being rolled out in selected countries and for specific products, with plans to expand both the product range and geographic coverage.
