PI/RtPM and OPC

Register Now ( http://tracking.osisoft.com/t?ctl=12F7B49:38C9620> )The OPC Foundation is an industry consortium whose objective is to define data access implementation standards for the manufacturing industries. The Foundation has defined standards to allow vendors of time series databases to expose their data through a common programming interface.
This standard has enabled the development of generic applications that are capable of accessing any time series database, as long as its vendor supports an OPC Server. The existing OPC standards will be reviewed and compared with the OPC UA (Universal Architecture) standard currently in development. OSIsoft has integrated OPC technology into its RtPM platform in many significant ways. OSIsoft has been asked to add OPC capability to some of its client applications. While we agree with this in principle, we suggest a different implementation.
This presentation will include a description of our recommended architecture for the visualization of OPC data in RtPM applications.

In this webinar, we teach how to use the VB 6 Add-in Wizard to create the add-in, how to write the code that hooks your procedures to user actions in ProcessBook, and how to use Microsoft’s Packaging and Deployment Wizard to create an installation disk for your add-in.
The webinar is designed for beginners who are familiar with programming or macro languages but not necessarily familiar with VBA.
