Van der Vaart has over 25 years’ experience in the defense and securities industry, and has served in both operations and business development roles throughout his career.

September 10, 2018 - Ultra Electronics, 3eTI, a cyber-physical technology company, announced Dirk van der Vaart as the new president of the company. Van der Vaart’s background and expertise is expected to drive organizational growth through innovation and accountability. His track record of delivering growth internationally, for start-ups as well as established enterprises, spans two decades in the security, intelligence and special operations fields.

Van der Vaart has over 25 years’ experience in the defense and securities industry, and has served in both operations and business development roles throughout his career, including extensive international experience. Most recently, he served as the chief operations officer (COO) at Gatekeeper Inc., a US-based security technology provider. Prior to that, Van der Vaart’s experience includes positions as president of GardaWorld Government Services, vice president of business development at GLOBAL Integrated Security LLC, business development executive at Raytheon (Global Security Solutions) and vice president of homeland security at ManTech. Prior to entering the defense industry, van der Vaart spent 11 years as a special operations officer in the intelligence community.

Van der Vaart has a B.A. degree in journalism and political science from Messiah College and an M.B.A. in international business from George Washington University.

He is fluent in Italian, Dutch, French, German and Spanish, and is studying Hebrew and Arabic.
