WAGO expands LEVER-NUTS connectors
Additions include a mounting carrier, strain relief plate and angled DIN-rail adapter.

August 19, 2008 – WAGO Corporation has expanded the 222 Series LEVER-NUTS compact splicing connector family with three components for multiple mounting and strain relief configurations. The mounting carrier (222-500), strain relief plate (222-505) and angled DIN-rail adapter (222-510) support LEVER-NUTS in applications where fixed mounting and/or strain relief are required.Compact carrier dimensions and the simplicity of LEVER-NUTS lift-and-lock terminations provide a quick and cost-effective alternative to traditional fixed wire terminations. The system is ideal for fixed wire terminations in applications where the options and ratings of rail-mounted terminal blocks are not required or applicable.

222-500 Mounting Carrier

The 222-500 holds four 2-wire, three 3-wire or two 5-wire LEVER-NUTS connectors. Designed for vertical snap-on DIN-rail mounting, or panel mounting in either vertical or horizontal orientation via screws, the 222-500 carrier also features molded-in terminal marking or optional self-adhesive marking strips. Strain relief tabs and cable ties arrange and secure conductors. Connector end stops secure the LEVER-NUTS in the carrier; the LEVER-NUTS test ports are accessible through the 222-500’s carrier slots.

222-505 Strain Relief Plate

The 222-505 affixes to the 222-500 mounting carrier, adding four additional strain relief points. The combined unit can then be snapped onto DIN-rail for vertical orientation, or it can be mounted on flat surfaces via screws either horizontally or vertically.

222-510 Angled DIN-rail Adapter

The 222-510 provides horizontal DIN-rail mounting for carriers in the 222 LEVER-NUTS, 773 WALL-NUTS and 273 Series PUSH WIRE® connector families. The right-angled adapter offers a snap-fit to the appropriate carrier and snap-in, DIN-rail mounting. “The new mounting and fixing components open LEVER-NUTS to applications requiring additional conductor support and identification, such as those in industrial cabinets,” said Cory Thiel, WAGO Product Manager – Interconnect.

“This flexibility supplies a wide variety of secure mounting configurations including: DIN-rail or chassis-mount, horizontal or vertical positions, and with or without additional strain relief.”WAGO is the leader in spring pressure connection technology that eliminates loose wires resulting from vibration and temperature cycling, while providing highly reliable, corrosion-resistant and maintenance-free connections. Products: DIN-rail, PCB and chassis mount terminal blocks; signal conditioners; the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM and more.
