Germantown, WI, March 2003 WAGO Corporation is pleased to announce a new series of DIN rail mount DC-DC converters. Designated the 859 Series, these converters offer the industries smallest package at just 6.2mm wide. Control panel space issues are typically across the back panel and not due to the depth of the enclosure, said WAGO Product Manger, Bill Lydon. The WAGO 859 series DC-DC converters solve this issue by efficiently using the existing depth in the enclosure while utilizing very little space across the back panel.
The DC-DC converters are offered in three voltage ranges (custom voltages available on request) and solve many power source issues that engineers deal with on a daily basis. For example, · The 12V-24V step up converter is typically used in remote locations when only 12V DC is available. This module can cost effectively produce 24V DC at up to 250mA from a 12 V source. For applications that have a 12V DC battery/charger source, this module offers a wide input rang to tolerate the variability associated with battery/charger power sources.
In addition, this highly efficient converter is designed to conserve battery power. · The 24V-5V step down converter is often used in industrial control environments where 24V DC is commonly used. In many cases, 5V DC is required to power computer-based systems, controllers, and field devices such as specialty sensors or interfacing to TTL circuitry. This module cost effectively produces 5 VDC at up to 500 mA from a 24V source.· The 48V-24V step down converter is often used in telecommunications equipment where 48V DC is commonly the power source.
The module cost effectively produces 24V DC at up to 250 mA from a 48V source. The 859 series DC-DC converters offer extensive features such as, maintenance-free CAGE CLAMPÒ spring pressure wire termination technology, jumper slots for easy potential commoning, convenient DIN rail mounting, input polarity protection, output circuit protection, built-in test points, clearly identified connection points, marking tag facility for module identification, and a two year warranty. These modules are currently available from stock and are cost effectively priced at $51.83 List for the 24V-5V version.
